Second opinions
A second opinion differs from a referral because the referral is suggested and coordinated by the first-opinion vet, whereas the second opinion is requested and coordinated by the owner.
Sometimes it is good to get a second opinion, regardless of whether one feels a diagnosis has been made correctly or not. A disease may have been correctly diagnosed, but a certain drug to treat that disease might be available at one clinic and not at another.
If you wish to bring your pet to Sunset Vet for a second opinion, be sure to bring with you the full medical history from your original vet, including the results of any diagnostic tests performed (blood test results etc).
